Clanotech aims to deliver novel anti-angiogenic compounds, VEGFRs & Integrin inhibitors for the treatment of solid cancers and age related macular degeneration (AMD). Clanotech was founded in 2006 based on research by Prof. Yihai Cao, Karolinska Institutet. The chemical starting points were then identified from the in vitro screening of "small-molecule" compounds-library until 2008. Chemical expansion on the novel templates led to lead compounds that demonstrated good in vivo efficacy both in cancer and AMD preclinical animal models. Clanotech projects are now in lead optimization phase supported by a follow-up program.
